Purpose can be a problem, can't it? You can lose your purpose, and that is very sad.
I recently read an interesting book which is the polar opposite of soemthing like "A New Earth" - and yet very similar in some ways. "The Passionate Programmer", about how to make a special career as a SE.
Wonderfull book. I used to really love this stuff, and maybe I'm recovering that feeling.
I didn't know 'The Passionate Programmer' exists! I didn't need that during my 100 hour per week programming days once upon a time! :)
