Some of my Thoughts

The following post was my first assignment at Toastmasters a few years ago. Thought it would be interesting to share it here...

.
.
.
.
We are the sum of our thoughts. So today, I’ll be sharing with you some of my thoughts. Each of these thoughts has influenced in my life. I will present them in a chronological order.

Thought 1 : “Why can’t teachers explain to me why I’m a naughty boy?”
I think children should not be fed any negativity about themselves without clear explanations and their own right of reply (or defense). Often, adults choose the easy way out by criticising the child (sometimes with physical punishments) without clear explanations. The result of this thought and experience is that I now take the patience to explain what I want to people (esply children) clearly.

Thought 2 :“ How is it that Caucasian tourists can afford to backpack to see the world, while we (the locals) are struggling to bring three meals to the table?”
As an adventurous kid, I used to wander to Mount Faber from my home in Redhill where I met these tourists. We were ‘allowed’ to do that those days. School was not so demanding and mum has seven other of my brothers and sisters to take care of. This thought has strengthened my resolve to live my dream and travel the world, modelled after a few books written by the author and futurist Alvin Toffler. At that age, I was idealistic and had a fervent belief that people regardless of race, language, religion, caste, creed or gender can achieve anything they want to, if they put their minds to it. To date, I have lived and worked in fifteen cities across four continents over twenty years, and have built my information security business in the meantime.

Thought 3 :“How can a country so dynamic once upon a time be so indolent?”
This may sound familiar, but I was actually referring to England when I started my backpacking. After Australia, my impression was that all white people are naturally lazy. This thought is later proven wrong when I returned to Singapore, my country of birth. When I left twenty years ago, everyone was ‘hungry’ to work and progress. Now after a system of government where many Members of Parliament need not face the ballot box to be in office, a series of government subsidised upgrading of living quarters, monetary dividends, and other payouts, the majority has become indolent.
So, regardless of race, language and religion, once the system is set to produce lazy and indolent people, it will!

Thought 4: “At some point, we have to let go…”
When I was twenty, I thought life goes on forever. Physically, it was almost zero resistance. Now when I go jogging, I realise I have kneecaps that hold my thighs and shanks together. Bless are my kneecaps that are still working and serving me well.
We cannot defy gravity. At some point, our physical attributes will be less effective, especially given the way we punish ourselves daily. I am now more health conscious. I practise Yoga and meditate daily. It gives me a mind to see many issues more clearly to be grateful for all of God’s creations.

So whether it is a new line of wrinkle, your grown-up offspring leaving home or a need to loosen political grip, at some point we have to let go to move forward.

You are the sum of your thoughts. So pay good attention to them. Thoughts are energy. Thoughts travel and they are powerful. :)

Fake It Until You Make It??? :)

Once upon a time, there was a man who dreamed about getting rich. So he decided to 'fake it until he make it' and went out to buy a fake Rolex watch and showed it around. The common folks were full of admiration of the man and thought that he had struck wealth and can now splurge on luxuries like the expensive watch.

Word got around that he was already rich. So one day a visiting tycoon came to the village and wanted to meet him. He was delighted, but throughout the meeting, he kept his hands in his trousers pocket to hide his fake Rolex. The visitor did not notice and overall had a good impression of the man.

After the tycoon had left, the man is again out showing off his watch and enjoying the admiration and attention granted to a successful man from the common folks. Everyone really thought he had arrived and treated him with respect.
.
However, as much as he enjoyed the attention, deep down, he knew in truth whether his Rolex is authentic or not. Much as the truth we always know of ourselves. :)

The 2$ Pledge

Came across this posting at sparklette.net...

"i had met my mom for dinner at chinatown. there, we saw a frail and skinny old man who looked about 80. he was collecting empty aluminum drink cans from a trash can at a bus stop. this is a common everyday sight, but it’s still extremely sad to witness. everyone there who was waiting for their bus watched and scrutinised his every move. every single one of us there was so much better off than him. yet all we did was stood there. and stared. and judged... more"

The Secret Behind "The Secret"

Got this email from my friend Joo Hock about how Enrique applies the lessons learned from the famous DVD "The Secret".

Joo Hock is the Bucky Group leader. The Bucky Group meets every Sunday at MacRitchie. Enrique Tsou is a trainer and also one who joins the Bucky Group whenever he is in Singapore, just like I do.

I am much enlightened by Enrique's email. I hope you find something useful in it too!

Malaysia 7 December 2006

Dear Joo Hock,

Glad to see how the Bucky Group is getting very interested with Bob Proctor’s DVD “The Secret”.

I’m glad that now this “secret” has caught all the Bucky member’s attention, even though Clinton and I shared it with you all during our 1st Science of Getting Rich seminar in AIA premises on Sept 2001. I really hope that during your Saturday’s discussions you can get into the applications of the Universal Laws or Generalized Principles as called by Bucky, in all your daily activities specifically the applications of the Law of Attraction and the Law of Vibration mentioned in the “Secret”.

When Clinton and I went to Las Vegas more than 6 years ago to receive training from Bob Proctor, we bring back the “Secret”. Those days Bob called it the “Laws of the Universe” and he used it to explain the secret of Wattles D. Wallace Science of Getting Rich book.

My life transformation started when I was looking for a deeper understanding of the Universal Laws so I can apply it myself and explain it to all my participants in a clearer and easier way during my trainings. The side effect of this study is a significant change of my life. It moved me to find the ways to “communicate” with the Universe, which help me to discover and develop further my Spiritual Quotient, which I called SQ.

While I was walking on the SQ path, I found out the answer of what my life purpose is, I also discovered what is my true passion in life and gave me the courage to live this passion in the way I’m living it today. The process of discovering the answers to all these life long questions has become the key ingredients in all my training programs. This gained experience has helped me shift the content of my programs to a different and more complete level. Today the SQ knowledge together with my IQ, EQ and KQ (Knowladge Quotient), has given me Bucky’s tri-dimensional Tetrahedron structure, the strongest structure in the Universe.

I’ve been receiving all your emails about the “Secret”, and since I am not able to attend the coming Saturday’s Hairfair gatherings until I come back from Kuala Lumpur, perhaps you will find useful some of my personal experiences dealing with the Secret while you are having your weekly group discussion on the subject.

THE TRUE SECRET
The “Secret” DVD, even though has revealed what actually the secret is, is still a secret because has not revealed the “how to apply it” effectively. As a matter of fact, sure few of you have tried to follow the ways explained in the DVD to get some “stuffs” using the Laws of Attraction, but did you get it? Chances are not. The secret of the “Secret” lies in the way we communicate with the Universe, not on how we understand our universe works. Is the “I Know” syndrome against the “I have done it” syndrome, or what I called “the how to do” way.

Most people in the world despite not knowing anything about the theory behind of this “secret”, many have managed to get all what they want, why? Because it does not matter what you call the Secret: Law of Attraction, Visualization, Goal Setting, Affirmations, etc. What matter is the way we communicate with the Universe to “request” what we want that matter. I have discovered that this request is done through applying our feelings in the direction of what we want.

Everyone knows that feelings are something we need to experience it personally, cannot be explained, and cannot be understood, the only way is to fell it personally. How you explain a little boy what is “fall in love” when he has never “fall in love before”? Because feelings are a kind of “tri-dimensional language”, and no matter how we try to explain it using our limited bi-dimensional language, will never be accurate. Another example of feelings that all we can relate is the feeling of “fear”; all of us has experienced it and it means different things to each of us.

ALL UNIVERSAL LAWS WORKS SIMULTANEOUSLY.
Most people study the Universal Laws one by one thinking each Law are individual Laws that are not much related with each other. In reality, all the Universal Laws are all closely interrelated.

When we look carefully how Nature (or Universe) works, we can notice that there is not a single physical “stuff” governed only by the single rules of the science of Math or Chemistry or Physics. All physical “stuffs” are governed by the science of Math and Chemistry and Physics working all simultaneously. We may be able to separate them in our labs and books, but in reality, as the Universal Laws, they are all interrelated.

The essence of the “Secrets” is to learn “how to” apply all the Laws simultaneously correct; When one Law is not align with the rest of the Laws, we will not get what we desired. Most people think that to attract what they want they only need to work on the Law of Attraction forgetting the interrelationship of the other Laws… You may want something, but if your feelings are not aligned with what you want, the Universe will deliver what you feel not what you want.

Because of the interdependence of the Laws it makes the study of the “Secret” more complicated but also more interesting. This is the main reason why many people fail in applying effectively these laws, despite they have a clears understanding on how each law works.

OUR BLUEPRINT: THE SOURCE OF OUR ATTRACTION.
One of the many “secrets” to apply effectively the Laws in our advantage is having “clarity” as I shared with the Bucky group during the Sentosa workshop. It is not the “what to do or what Laws to apply”, but the “How to apply them simultaneously”. Learn to detect our true feelings and develop them is the way to work all the Laws simultaneously.

Most people when they apply the Universal Laws in their daily life, specifically the Laws of Attraction, they do it by only focusing in visualizing or use affirmations or setting goals and use will power to attain them, or writing notes to the Universe and place them in a secret compartment; these are the typical “what to do” way. When people apply these techniques without modifying 1st their “blueprints” the result is much harder to get and less effective.

Is only when we recognize that our Blueprint is the responsible of “repelling” or “attracting” all what we want, then we are ready to embark in changing part or our entire “Blueprint”. The “Blueprint” is the one who has created the life we have today; it is fully responsible to attract/repel all we have and we don’t have today, without exception.

We can control for a short period of time the way we want to feel – which is when we visualize or use affirmations, but when we are in automatic mode into our daily activities, is our “Blueprint” who makes us feel the way we feel most of the time. This long term feelings has more attraction power than few moments of specific feelings; and this is why we cannot attract what we want, but what we are. Until what we are is the same of what we want, then we will attract all what we want.

The question is how to see our “Blue Print”? We can see it by looking at how is our life now, the friends surround us, and the results we have now. This is why after attending the “Money & You” seminar, some of us has shifted our awareness and moved away form those “old friends” we use to mingle around and carry the same old conversation as before; we shifted our consciousness to a different level, which makes us to attract different group of people. In my case, that is how I was attracted to the Bucky group. In M&Y argot, we call this phenomenon perturbation. Our surroundings are all mirrors that reflect our invisible “blueprints”. In order to see those reflections we need “clarity” and courage to accept what we see, otherwise our ego will take over and distort on what is in front of us.

Getting to know our “Blueprint” is a concept that is not easy to grasp, this is because being a feeling is a tri-dimensional concept that fail to be explained accurately using our a bi-dimensional language tool. That is why using games as learning tools during seminars are so powerful, provided after the game the trainer/facilitator provide a profound debriefing using the feelings as learning tool. I’ve seen so many cases where participants are transformed after a powerful debriefing of a simple game played.

The way I managed to develop good clarity in my thinking is through the development of my SQ.

WHAT FLIES Beneath the Radar ATTRACTS MORE THAN WHAT IS FLYING Above the Radar.
This concept of Blue Print is powerful; I’ve seen radical changes after few weeks when some of my participants changed their blueprint. Once they “sees” their Blueprint, they suddenly understand why their life is where is now. They managed to connect with the fact that until they change the part of their Blueprint that hold them to move forward, no matter how hard they visualize or use will power to attain what they want, they will keep getting the same result over and over. The learning for them is instead to visualizing what they want; they visualize in changing the part of their blueprint that hinder them. This allows them to attract what they want. This is how the Law of Cause & effect works: focusing on the right cause and the effect will come by itself.

Because what is flying beneath the radar (what we feel most of the time: fear, anxiety, uncertainty, stress etc), is much more powerful that what flies above the radar (what we say we want- a short feeling duration). So by working over the right feelings, we have the right attractions. The concept of “What is Flying beneath the Radar” was taken from the book “The 11th Element” from Robert Scheinfeld.

BLUE PRINT & BE-INGNESS
One way to understand the Blueprint concept is relating it to Bucky’s concept of “Be-ingness”. I have discovered that in our “Be-ingness” is where it rests our passion and life purpose. So one way to access our true Be-ingness/blueprint is through living our passion and life purpose.

Discovering the passion is not a big problem, I as many others has managed to get it. The challenge is what we do next after we discover what our passion/life purpose is. Most people do not have the courage to do the next move: live their passion as their way of life. The majority lives it as one of their many hobbies. I have also discovered when we live our passion as the way of living our life, we will be able to develop our full potential and on the way, we will discover our true-life purpose. I call it true-life purpose because it is not the purpose other tells us it is, it is the purpose we discover ourselves as we live our passion. When most people when they wish to live their passion as their way of living, because of fear in venturing to the unknown and to an unpredictable future; they decide to live their passion only half way. By doing so, they are just keeping that “wish” as a suppressed feeling. As times move on in their life, there will be a moment when regret takes place, and the question of: what could happen if I had followed my passion…

I still remember one of the Saturday’s sessions in Hairfair, when Erick was as usual seating over the left end corner of the salon, he mentioned that once we are walking our life purpose, everything that we do would be very smooth. My experience tells me that is true. The way I can explain it is because by living our life purpose, we are in line with our true Be-ingness, this Be-ingness will attracts all that we need in order to fulfill our life purpose. More we live our life purpose, smoother our life will be.

Maybe few will disagree with me in this way of thinking. Many have decided what their life purpose is and they decided they way they want to run their life purpose, which is not necessary the way the Universe wants it. Is the way our ego wants it. Hence, we face all the objection the Universe can put on the way, and our life get lots of obstacles, until we hit what in M&Y calls THE MACK TRUCK, and our life face a complete halt, which make us to contemplate what the Universe wants from us, rather what we want.

CONTEMPLATION: THE SECRET OF CLARITY
When we look fearless into our Be-ingness/Blueprint, we will learn how to “contemplate” what is happening around us. For me contemplation is looking inwards of us, searching for the answers that lay deep in us.

As a basic requirements for us to get answers, we must 1st ask questions; is clear that no questions, no answers. However many confuse “contemplation” with the activity of “meditation”, or become a hermit, or spend weeks in isolation. During our Sentosa’s “3 in one session” I shared the concept of “the unseen 99%” using Bucky’s definition of human being. Bucky managed to get this and so many other truths by contemplating what is happening around him and inside him. By contemplating inside him Bucky accessed to his BE-ingness, and this is why I believe he was able to “see the invisible 99% surrounding us” and connect the Generalize Principle with our daily activity - his Law of Precession Effect is a clear case of the results of this contemplation. Why most of us are not able to see what he managed to see? Because most of us are more into the “Do-ingness” than into the “Be-ingness”, thus we can only see the “visible 1%”. I don’t know you, but in my case I discovered when I do too much without the proper “Be-ingness” supporting it behind. What I am actually was doing is hindering the help that the Universe was trying to provide me; and I enter into the phenomenon of “more I do, less I get”, at the end the only thing I got is getting very tired and arriving no where near of where I wanted to go. However, the other extreme is also useless; we must keep a balance in not fall into the syndrome of “too much analysis become paralysis”. Again, for me this balance is just a feeling, it cannot be explained with words when I am in a balanced state and when I am not.

By the way, “contemplation” was exactly what Bucky did when he wanted to committed ego-suicide. He kept himself in silent mode for 3 years. During that period, he embarked in an inner journey while living a normal mundane life, and found out a “clarity” which helped him to discover incredible principles, invent wonderful things and write those profound books. He also found his life purpose, because he understood what his BE-ingness is, it can be seen by the way he lived his purposeful life. By practicing contemplation, Bucky was connected with the Universe. And by contemplating, he could decided the exact moment to leave peacefully this planet earth: after he accomplished all what he came to do here … His contemplation about life is what has inspired me to look for my own life purpose, after I found it has changed my life from making a living to LIVE life to the fullest!

Once we start applying the “Secret” in our daily life activities, we will sure notice changes in the way we live life, because we will “attract unconsciously” all things we need in an effortless way to fulfill our life purpose. The Laws of Attraction is directly related to our Be-ingness, which is related to our Blue Print, which is related to our Life Passion, which is related to our Life Purpose.

If after applying the Universal Laws purposely, our life has not moved to a different level, it is very possible that we are still on the plane of “paralysis because of too much analysis”. In simple words, we are still in the “I Know Syndrome”. We have not developed the right feelings that only can be acquired by DOING it. But if after we applied the Laws, our life become more complicated because we keep “attracting the wrong things and/or persons”, there is an attraction force that is “flaying beneath the radar”. We need to contemplate and correct the source feeling in our Blueprint that has made the so call “wrong” attraction. Attracting the wrong “stuff” is still the Law of Attracting in motion…

All these had happened in my life because 6 years ago I had the curiosity to know more about the Universal Laws….Living following the Universal Laws change lives, it has change mine and I hope it also will change your life.

In the mean time, I believe Colin, Siew Kiang and Clinton will be able to contribute their own experiences to the discussion of the Secret, since they recently have gain valuable experience during my program in Kuala Lumpur.

A big hug to all Bucky members, and looking forward to see you before the end of 2006,

Enrique Tsou

Gulf Architecture - 29th Nov 2006

Another building with very sharp edges. Al-Faisaliah Buidling

Gulf Architecture - 29th Nov 2006

Isn’t this cute?

Desert Rain

It was raining when I arrived in Riyadh. Weather at about 25C and sunny, is lovely the rest of the day though.

Gulf Hospitality - 28th Nov 2006

This is the lovely hotel Gulf Air let me stay in while on transit in Bahrain for 8 hours. They even fed me lunch! This is welcome hospitality but very uncommon elsewhere outside the Gulf region. Perhaps this is a carry-over from their traditional desert culture, where every visitor to your land must have come a long hard way and are tired, so you give him a place to sleep and something to eat.

Good that they keep this culture. We all must remember what to keep when we “progress” in our societies.

Thank you Gulf Air.

Gulf Architecture

New constructions in Bahrain. Wonder why the Gulf region loves buildings with sharp edges. Any Feng Shui expert care to comment?

Up in the skies

I’m up in the skies again!

It’s amazing to know that a huge aircraft can be floating so far above the ground carrying such a load. More amazing to know that the Universal Laws for the mechanics of the aircraft have always been there, even way before the invention of aircrafts.

Visitors' Carpark - 26 Nov 2006

Visitors are always shooed to the furthest car park in Singapore and Malaysia. This is very different from places I see in Europe and Australia. There, visitors are given the closest car park lots to the building or access points.

Have we so easily forgotten our much touted “Asian Values” of being hospitable to our visitors? Visitors are afterall customers that pays the salaries. I think businesses and organisations here have their business priorities upside down!

105 Universal Laws Notes - Part 2

26 Nov 2006

These posts are back-dated. Somehow, I could not get it uploaded whilst I was in Saudi Arabia.

105 Universal Laws – 26 Nov 2006

This posting is based on what I have learned from the "105 Universal Laws" seminar on the 26th Nov 2006 in Singapore by Dr Aaron Lim. This seminar comprises a series of lectures conducted one Sunday a month, stretching 6 months. This is the fourth lecture of the series.

Warning: This posting contains opinions that may be considered unacceptable by some people. If you are easily offended by unconventional views about religion and spiritualism, then DO NOT READ FURTHER THAN HERE.
If you do, then do it at your own risk! If you do not agree with the views expressed below, it does not mean that you have not 'arrived', rather it just mean that you 'do not agree'. Meanwhile, try to be open. There are lots to discover about ourselves when we are open. Do feel free to leave comments.

The Observer and The Doer

A warm welcome to some of you who are new to the seminar. For this seminar, keep your hearts and minds open. Make no judgments. Judgments are those silent comments you make about a person that you don’t normally voice out. Believing is not compulsory in this seminar. There is no conversion here. If you leave this seminar having learned something, so much the better.

Just like a buffet, you take what you like. And just like a buffet, no two persons will leave having accepted and learned the same things. There are some who eat by quality, some by quantity; some fast, some slow. Everyone come at different times and no two persons take the same quantities and the same dishes.

This is just like Life. We decide what we want on our plate. Some have their plates FULL (Hell). There is an Inner Voice that decide what we take and what we put back.

Whoever eats will fill his own stomach. I cannot eat and you fill your stomach, and vice versa. Even between couples, the spiritual development is different, for they are each taking the different spiritual dishes in different quantities and different times.

We can be an observer in our life this way. If we are an observer in life, we become wiser. Over time, the observer and the doer becomes one. It is like the expert cook when he is cooking. He has become one with his dish, his wok, his fire and ingredients. He knows exactly what to throw in by how much and when to do that, but can’t explain why. By becoming the observer, we start to see the underlying principle in seemingly different things.

Take the example of a Tudung (headscarfed) Muslim woman and a trendy teenager wearing revealing hipster jeans low till just above the crouch. On the surface, they look very different. One conservative, the other liberal to the extent of an exhibitionist. They both are trying to strike an identity for themselves. To be tudung-ed to belong to the custom. Same thing for the teenager, to be outrageously revealing to be in the fashion - to belong. The need to stay in an exclusive group is a show of insecurity. The commonality between the tudung woman and the sexily revealing teen, in the example, is therefore insecurity.

Take another example between a tribal woman with her lower lip extended by a circular plate and a modern urban woman who put on lipsticks. To the tribal man, the extended lip is sexy and beautiful. Likewise the modern man finds a woman with lipstick beautiful. So the commonality between the two women is that they are both trying to look beautiful even though it may not be apparent on the surface.

So do not get caught in the superficial aspects of life. It is like a Tsunami. It is all turbulent and violent on the surface, but deep down the bottom it is still. If you are at the bottom when the Tsunami happens, you will not be swept away.

So be IN this world, not OF this world.

All there is, is LOVE. All else are not permanent and much of them are mere dramas of life. Our blessings come from people, and the safest place is to love unconditionally. Be like water. Water fits with the container unconditionally, in total harmony with its nature, not out of fear.

A secure person doesn’t get carried away by the events of the time. They are comfortable and at peace with themselves. They don’t have to follow fashion. Often, they dress the way they want, and do not follow fashion. That is why people who are great often walk his path alone. It doesn’t have to be, but this is commonly the case.

Living in the Moment

When a person is angry, normally he has an issue with the subject he is confronting. We must learn to be well and happy. Then we can give. There is a prayer that goes:

“Dear God,
Grant me the serenity to accept things I can’t change and the courage to change the things I can. And the wisdom to know the difference. And the difference is ME. May I be well and happy.”

In the bible, there was a man called Jobs. Jobs live a surrendered life, a life surrendered to God. ( By the way, “Islam” means “surrender”.) Jobs’ wife did not live a surrendered life. If we don’t live a surrendered life, we will live life looking back and not living in the moment. In other words, we become immobilized.

In the story, Jobs’ wife was told to go through the cave without turning back otherwise she will be turned to stone. She understood that very well, but at some point could not resist the temptation to look back and turned herself into stone. This parable is to teach us not to look back in life, but live in the moment. And live every moment gloriously.

We have to change to mobilize ourselves and move forward. Unless there is a fundamental change, superficial changes will not take us away from where we are entrenched.

In Alignment

Religions are not in alignment with everyday life today. Religious teachings must sink into the soul to make the followers feel. If we feel, we won’t forget. There are many events we go through in our lives and we forget most of what happened. But those that we feel for, we never forget.

We should spend time walking in nature to get in alignment. Nature has its ways of calming ourselves down and getting us back in alignment. This is our sense of True Self, and our sense of peacefulness. The bible says, “Be still and know that I am God.”

God talks with us all the time, but we can’t hear because we are not quiet.

*Law of Cyclic Returns*

Basically you can call this Law of Recycling. This is the wheel of reincarnation (samsara). Energy cannot be created or destroyed. It changes form. The spirits move with the same habits left from the previous embodiment into the new form.

People with similar habits are attracted to each other. We eventually move around with people of the same consciousness.

Perfection creates perfection. So sin is impossible, for sin (by definition only) is imperfection. We must work towards perfection and be beneficial to other human beings. As long as we are in human body, we will have human emotions.

Cause and Effect

Once words are put out, there is no retrieving. Once thoughts are put out there is no taking back. So have loving thoughts. Love even those that hate you.

If we have no attachment to the ‘effects’, then there is no suffering. Eventually, all causes must be balanced with effects. Thoughts of fear will all be transformed into Love.

The Singer or The Song

What should we remember? The singer or the song?

There are some who question whether Jesus did indeed existed.
Does it matter?

Jesus never said “worship me”. He said “follow me”.
The important thing is the message, that it is so that you will remember and be enlightened. We have delusionally believed that we have ‘left’. Fear will keep us there (lost).

*Law of Right to Decree*

This is not a prayer. It is to say it as you want it to be and it will happen.

Those who have more, will have more added to them.

Those who do not have, will have more taken away from them.

Right to invocate comes from fullness. I say so, so it is.
Seek first the Kingdom of Heaven, and all else will be added to you.

You can’t think your way into enlightenment. You got to FEEL! Inspiration is from feeling!

*Law of Discipline*

There are Initiates, Followers and Disciples.
Many are called, but few are chosen.

*Law of Disintegration*

Clearly explained by the phrase “from dust to dust”. Eventually, all matter will disintegrate.

*Law of Divine Flow*

Does it bring me to my highest good? Release and let go. Let the Spirit direct the flow. Trust. Always have the trust that the divine will take you to your highest good. Everything will flow according to its time.

*Law of Divine Love and Oneness*

“Uni-verse” means one-song.

*Law of Economy*

The Universe is economical with its energy to give the greatest amount of creation. That’s why we don’t have affinity for people who takes too much of our energy. We avoid troublesome people. They take too much energy.

Conversely, the more we can save the energy of other people, the more they will love us. Remember, nobody have to live their life for us.

*Law of Equalities of Analogy*

As above

As within ---------+--------- As beyond

As below

*Law of Expansion*

The Universe will expands and then contracts.

*Law of Expectation*

If you have expectations, you will live in pain.
Try to live a day without expectations and see what happens.

Tai Chi at East Coast Park, Singapore

Took this on roller blades. Good fun keeping balance and camera frame.

Morning Light

It is said that the morning sun energises our chakras that in turn energises our bodies.
I go to the beach frequently in the morning and that theory seems to hold! :)

Qi Gong at East Coast Park Singapore

Took this video clip while on roller blades.

These senior citizens practise their Qi Gong from six every morning resting only three days around Lunar New Year. The atmosphere is so happy at East Coast Park in the morning. I love going to places with happy people, as I get all soaked up in those vibrant energies and have no choice but be happy like them! :)

Note: My Cannon camera only allow 30 second video clips. arghhh!!! Planning to buy a higher resolution videocam to take more videos by the beach. Any recommendations anyone?

The Quests (Singapore) - Wonderful Land

They were once upon a time the hottest pop band in Singapore and Malaysia. This was the Golden 60s of Singapore music. A time when technology was still very limited and it took a lot more determination and inspiration to form a band and make it!

An inspiring Speech By Subroto Bagchi, Chief Operating Officer, MindTree Consulting

This is a speech well worth reading, it redefines success more holistically beyond mere material...
"I was the last child of a small-time government servant, in a family of five brothers. My earliest memory of my father is as that of a District Employment Officer in Koraput, Orissa.

It was and remains as back of Beyond as you can imagine. There was no electricity; no primary school nearby and water did not flow out of a tap. As a result, I did not go to school until the age of eight; I was home-schooled. My father used to get transferred every year. The family belongings fit into the back of a jeep - so the family moved from place to place and, without any trouble, my mother would set up an establishment and get us going. Raised by a widow who had come as a refugee from the then East Bengal, she was a matriculate when she married my Father.

My parents set the foundation of my life and the value system which makes me what I am today and largely defines what success means to me today... more"

Mind Games

Podcasting by East Coast Park, Singapore

Just recorded another podcast with my friend Clinton about a board game that he has invented that trains people to be creative and improve their learning abilities.

Here is the gist of what was discussed:
  1. That we are smarter than we think.

  2. Size of brain does not matter. More importantly, it is the number of connections we have in our brain. Number of connections are unlimited.

  3. That it is a mistake to think that if we are creative we are a 'right brain person'. Creativity requires the use of both the right and left hemisphere. ie. the whole brain.

  4. The more we learn to do more sophisticated tasks, we become smarter, as we exercise the brain.

Backstage comment:
You may have noticed that we sounded a little edgy and serious in the podcast! :) That was because we were fighting off those uninvited creepy crawlies joining us whilst we were recording! arghh!! :)

Ah Por

Ah Por is an 82 year old Hakka immigrant from China. She has now lived in Singapore for over 40 years.
.
I went to Ah Por's place to massage my neck. All the late nights and stress had resulted in my chronic neck pain that needs regular fixing. At 82 years old, Ah Por's hands are far stronger than all the other young masseuse I have been to in Singapore. She told me that she has been practising Qi Gong since the age of 10. No wonder! Her eyes are extremely alert, and she is also physically and mentally very agile. Ah Por's massage was effective, but also very painful!!! Only go to Ah Por if you can bear the pain!
.
Ah Por is calm and unhurried. There is a sense of peace and serenity with her. After the massage, she asked me to rest on the massage table and to get up only when I was ready. Then as I sat on her sofa after getting up, she even pulled a low stool for me to rest my feet. I feel a little embarrased with that.
.
As I sat down, I noticed there were some plastic bottles of solution. I asked whether they were massage oil, and she told me that they were solutions to apply on the head for hair growth. It is a family secret formula. Before I knew it, Ah Por was already applying them on my hair. She normally retails them at S$10 each bottle, but for me, it is free! She gave me a bottle as a gift.
.
Then, it was time to leave. I asked how much the massage costs and she replied that it was S$12. Huh? Only S$12!!! I decided to pay her more and also told her that I would buy the bottle of hair lotion she gave me. To my amazement, she refused to accept money for the hair lotion. She insisted it was a gift for me. Then, she also refused to accept extra payment or tips. She said, she has enough money to eat and live and doesn't need more. Even till the end, because of the lack of small change, she told me that she owed me S$1 and that she will put that into account for my next massage session.
.
I feel so inspired by Ah Por. She is so contented with life. Though her tiny 3 room apartment is spartan and old, she refused to accept any more money. And she is so caring to the people she serves. Perhaps that is her secret to a healthy old age. One that serves others and ask for only enough to live on.

Aura Pixs

Brought my friend to the shop to take her aura picture. Before she went into the booth, I saw that her aura was orange with some pink. As it turned out, it was exactly as what I saw. The photographer was surprised. (My friend didn't want to show her pix to everyone, so I can't display it here. )

I then told the photographer that I would like to take a snapshot as well. She thought I was kidding, since she had just witnessed that I can see my friend's aura without the need of the photography. I grinned and told her that I would not be able to see my own. Then while in the booth, I told her that mine would be blue, purple with some white. So as it turned out it looked like this...
I didn't see the orange part on my lower left before the image was taken. Somehow I had missed that part!
Aura imaging is generally based on Kelian photography invented in the 1950s. However, there is now aura imaging systems that use normal webcams to capture the images.

I can also see aura from live webcams with my naked eye! The clarity depends directly on the webcam resolution. Actually, this is no magic, as my Harry Potter gang can see auras just like that too! One of my friend in the gang, Jenny, can even see aura from normal photographs! This is a feat I am still yet to master and wish to. :) If you are not already seeing auras with your naked eye, you can too, with proper guidance and practice. It's all in you waiting to be discovered.

Interview with Nishant, a memory expert

This is an interview with Nishant Kasibhatla, via MSN Messenger. Nishant is a memory expert and was ranked 9th in the World Memory Championship Competition. He can recall up to 2,000 digits back and forth - that's how good he is.
Some memory tips:
  • Children have good memories as they love to learn.
  • Children live in the moment. It is about paying attention to the moment and living in the moment.
  • Try Visualise, Associate and Pleasure (VAP) in memory.
  • Reduce your reliance on technology

This is probably one of the rare podcasts interviews documented using an online instant messenger anywhere. I could have done this interview whilst thousands of miles away from the interviewee and it wouldn't have made any difference! Broadcasting has taken a great leap forward. Now anyone can broadcast any subject worldwide instantly - for free! Even me, a non-practising civil engineer, information security specialist and environmental technology entrepreneur, totally untrained in journalism! Now, I too can broadcast to the world! Thanks to MSN Messenger!
As for Nishant, he told me which degree he did in University, but I have already forgotten!!! :)

Interview podcast (Will take about 50 seconds. I am working on streaming... soon...)

The Bucky Group

I have been wanting to write about this amazing group who has been gathering at McRitchie Reservoir every Sunday morning at 7.30am for the last 12 years to jog and do book reading/discussions on Buckminster Fuller's works. Buckminster Fuller is a famous author, philosopher, engineer and great contributor to mankind.
I join them whenever I am in Singapore on Sundays. Last Sunday, I learned a beautiful song composed by the late John Denver, "What One Man Can Do". Very inspiring!

(this is my first podcast)

What One Man Can Do...

What one man can do is dream.
What one man can do is love.
What one man can do is change the world and make it young again.
Here's what one man can do.

What will you resort to with the Integrated Resort?

Got news from my landlord recently that my rent is going up by 36%. He gave me only a few days to make a decision. If I do not agree with him he can choose to evict me. That was a big jump with a very short notice. He has refused to speak to me directly and has communicated with me via his agent who repeatedly threatened me with the law and eviction.
.
I have told her that I will bring the matter to my Member of Parliament, but on second thoughts, what's the point? He is after all, an ex-Member of Parliament himself and probably know his legal rights and moral wrongs more than I do.
.
I wasn't even fighting the rent increase so much, but merely asking for more time to move out and live in it under the old rent till January, since I had to travel to Saudi Arabia till January for business. Haiz! It is hard to believe I have rented his premises for four years and that is how he treats me. Did I hear the President said something about the new 5Cs we should have? What? Is one of them "Compassion"?
.
Recently, landlords are asking for increased rent in response to property price rises in the prime districts, after the announcement of the development of the integrated resort in Singapore. However, for the suburban East where I live, I got a feeling that it is just wishful thinking. The prime district property price increases are moved by foreign investors. In the suburbs, they cater mostly to the local market. I don't hear of local people earning more money in business or salaries recently and banks are not easier with their loans, so how can property prices go up here?
.
I have since found out that there is no law to protect tenants against astronomical rise in rental prices and landlords can evict tenants who refused to butt.
So, with the debate of whether we are going to have an integrated resort or not is out of the way, perhaps it is time to think of what we are going to resort to with all the new 'opportunities' out there.
.
I believe that gambling is bad, since for one to win, many have to lose, and the adverse effects are many. Be prepared to hear of more of these resorts of the resorts.

Opening The Door of Your Heart

This book is written by Ajahn Brahm, a Buddhist Monk and a British born Cambridge University graduate in Theoretical Physics. Ajahn Brahm is trained in the Thai forest meditation tradition under Venerable Ajahn Chah. In 1983, he was asked to assist in the establishment of a forest monastery near Perth, Western Australia, and is now the Abbot of the Bodhinyana Monastery and Spiritual Director of the Buddhist Society of Western Australia.
.
Ajahn Brahm has come to Singapore several times and I had the good fortune to attend his talks at Bright Hill Temple. It was such a delightful experience not only learning from his wisdom, but also enjoying so many jokes in one evening. Yes, it seems Ajahn Brahm loves jokes! He probably love telling stories as well as there were so many interesting stories told. What I find very different with Ajahn Brahm is that he speaks as a first person, which makes it easy to understand. For some reason, Eastern born Buddhist monks tend to speak in a more distant third person basis. (Make observations next time you are in a talk given by a Buddhist monk.)
.
His book, "Opening The Door of Your Heart" is one series of stories with profound lessons that all of us can relate to. I read it whilst I was waiting to break fast in Saudi Arabia during Ramadan. Some customers in the restaurant where I was in looked curiously at my book, noticing that it is written by a Buddhist monk and wondered what I was doing keeping to the Muslim fasting tradition! :) (The book has Ajahn Brahm's photo on the back cover.)

.

When I started reading the book, I was in an extremely tired state. Having finished work, I had also chatted with a few people on MSN, multi-tasking other chores at the same time. Then the first page struck me deeply. It says:

"Grant yourself a moment of peace,
and you will understand
how foolishly you have been scurried about.

Learn to be silent,
and you will notice that
you have talked too much.

Be kind,
and you will realise that
your judgement of others was too severe."
- Ancient Chinese Proverb

.

Then did I realise, in the midst of the desert heat, Ramadan, work, chatting with friends from Singapore via MSN to cover my homesickness, I too was getting myself into unnecessary haste and stress. It suddenly lightened my mind and energised me.
.
Another story "What's done is finished" was about the monks going for retreat during the monsoon months of July to October, in the midst of constructing their new hall in the forest monastery. So there laid half-constructed building without the roof , no doors, no windows, cement bags all over the place,...etc.
.
When a visitor saw the uncompleted building, he asked when the hall will be finished, which the old monk answered, "The hall is finished."
.
"What do you mean 'the hall is finished'?" the visitor replied, taken aback.
The old abbot smiled and gently replied, "What done is finished, " and then he went to meditate.
This is the only way to have a retreat or to take a break. Otherwise, our work is never finished.
There are many other interesting stories in the book, but I think with this story told, this posting is finished.

Meeting Swami Sri Sai Kaleshwar

Swami Sri Sai Kaleshwar's brief meeting with a small group of us at the Fullerton Hotel, Singapore:

"I have only one thing to tell this group. That is, life is short, make it sweet. When you wake up in the morning, make your day sweet. You don't have any problems. You think you have problems, but you don't have any problems. Whatever is given to you, accept it. Whatever is taken from you, also accept it. Always have trust in Him. If you have the trust, then life is sweet and there won't be problems."

Then, we were told to think of two wishes and go into silent meditation for about ten minutes.

I felt this sense of peace and calm after meeting Swami, though it was a mere fifteen minutes or so. His aura radiates way high. Very strong.

Vacuum State Travel

I have started another blog "Vacuum State Travels" (see sidebar link) to hold my travel photos. Do leave comments or captions if you are inspired. :)

Touch A Life Project

The following is an email from Mavis, a great lady I have the good fortune to meet at Dr Aaron's seminar in March this year.
----------------------------
Daily Meal Project
----------------------------

Greetings Friends of TouchALife,
The first ever Touch*A*Life Daily Meal Project was in Yogyakarta, Indonesia in Dec. 2004. For the past year, through the eruption of the volcano Mt. Merapi, the massive earthquake that shattered much of Yogyakarta, and a tsunami that hit its southern coast, TAL was present to provide emergency relief of more than 6000 food packages to the many who found themselves homeless and temporarily helpless.

TAL cooked and packed the meals in its kitchen for distribution to destroyed orphanages and welfare homes, and also to the street people. It also went to makeshift kitchens in evacuation camps and flattened villages to cook meals together with the people living in tents among the devastation.

It was and continues to be a life-changing event for so many in dire need of daily sustenance.

TAL is very pleased to announce the opening of another DailyMeal Project - this time, to touch lives of people in Malacca, Malaysia.

As in Indonesia, this project provides nutritious vegetarian lunches free of charge to those who are in temporary need of relief. Although no payment is expected, recipients are encouraged to contribute when and what they can, and to volunteer their assistance in any way possible.

Meals will be served at:

Where: No.11, Jalan Taming Sari Mata Kucing Dalam, Malacca
When: Tuesdays & Fridays
Time: 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm

The Grand Opening is Friday 3rd November, 2006 at 12:00 noon.

Please help spread the word.

TAL welcomes, with much gratitude, contributions of vegetables, eggs, fruits, provisions and cash.

If you would like to volunteer your love, time and energy, there are many ways to do this.

You could :
* Collect and transport vegetables from the wholesale market.
* Prepare the vegetables for cooking.
* Cook.
* Clear up after the serving period.
* Clean the premises.
* Be a Welcomer who creates a safe, loving and uplifting space for the people who come.

This is the whole point of TouchALife. TAL is beyond food.

To volunteer, please contact :

Mavis : H/P +6 012-6799 086 Email : http://us.f565.mail.yahoo.com/ym/Compose?To=touchalife@gmail.com
Caren : H/P +6 019-300 5599 Email : caren1689@yahoo.com
TAL would like to express its most heartfelt thanks to all its wonderful friends for the love, support and inspiration that makes TAL Projects possible.
With Much Love and Gratitude,

Mavis

How to get to No.11, Jalan Taming Sari, Mata Kucing Dalam?

If you are on Jalan Taming Sari heading towards the Jalan Taming Sari and Jalan Durian Daun Mosque traffic junction . pass JKR on the left . look out for a huge Jotun Paint signboard at a road-fork . take the left filter road of the fork . turn left again almost immediately before Warung Nejamudeen into a little lane that will lead to a cluster of kampung houses and the TAL Centre. Easy!

105 Universal Laws

This posting is based on what I have learned from the "105 Universal Laws" seminar on the 22nd Oct 2006 in Singapore by Dr Aaron Lim. This seminar comprises a series of lectures conducted one Sunday a month, stretching 6 months. This is the third lecture of the series.

There's lots to discover about ourselves when we are open. Do feel free to leave comments.

We started by discussing about Deepavali, which is mainly celebrated by the Hindus as the "Festival of Lights". We tend to think that this festival belongs to the Indians. When translated into Malay, it is "Pesta Jahaya", which may lead some people to think that it is a Malay festival. Similarly, Chinese New Year may be better called "Lunar New Year", since the moon belongs to everyone. The observation here is that many of us would like to put 'things' into boxes. Perhaps by doing so, we can relate to things better and therefore feel more secure about them.

However, we all know that there is no meaning to anything in the Universe apart from the meaning we put to it. So whatever meanings our minds put to anything, we will say "YES" to those adopted meanings. This is inevitable. This is how the mind works. Therefore it is important that we use our minds positively.

Fear makes our minds small. Without fear, we are pure love. It is said that pure love can move mountains. Belief in God is therefore not necessary. We cannot believe in something we already are. Belief in God lead to an image that God is outside us.

In many cultures, the images of Gods are similar to themselves. Therefore, Indian Buddha statues look like Indians, Chinese statues of Buddha look Chinese, Japanese Buddha statues look Japanese...etc. People create God in their own image - a reflection of themselves.

However, God is our oneself. We have forgotten that we are God. We have to be confident that we are God. God is all encompassing and everywhere. As God is everywhere, God has no boundaries, and therefore it is impossible to be an Aetheist. Because God has no boundaries, it is difficult to define what is God, but there can be a list of what God is not.

Our soul needs 'food' but not religion. Religions are likened to be the decorations to a gourmet dish. There are many gourmet dishes that taste delicious, but do not give us the nutrition we need. Hence, there is no need to build bigger mosques, bigger temples, bigger churches...etc. Building more and more places of worship is merely building more 'forms'. Religious zealots build more forms out of 'fear'. More forms are built to include more of their kind, so that there will be no challenges. Unfortunately, without challenges, there will be no growth.

God doesn't need to be worshipped, however loving God is necessary. We all are in the bond of love. Love is where we all want to go home to. We all have a homing device inside us.

There is just the Universal Laws that we must come into alignment with. These Universal Laws is there and cannot be changed. Once we catch the wind of the Universal Laws, our lives will be smooth sailing.

Some people may be offended when they are told that God doesn't need us to worship Him. It will be difficult for us to understand God. We are too far away from the level God is.

When the seminar facilitator mentioned this in Kuala Lumpur recently, there was thunder and lightning and a heavy storm. Someone in the audience then exclaimed playfully that God must be angry! But should it be the case? Thunder and lightning can also be seen as applause! While the member of the audience was just saying it in jest, it showed that he is conditioned to think of lightning as punishment.

It is also common for many religious practices to illustrate an angry God who is ever ready to punish His subjects. (I use 'religious practices' as oppose to 'religions' per se, as they are not always the same thing.) But many of us are already conditioned to think of God punishing those of us who have sinned. Changing this perception is often difficult.

For instance, Karma is often wrongly seen as a punishment. It is not so. Karma is a reaction to an action, not a punishment. Karma do not have control over us. We can always change what we don't like with our lives. We are free from Karma if we are free from attachment. However, it probably takes time to reach this detached state.

There are 31 planes of existence. God is at the 31st world, whilst human beings are in the 5th world. Animals are in the 3rd world.

It would be very difficult for a cat (3rd world) to understand a human being (5th world), though there is only a difference of 3 worlds. To the cat, the human being who is its master is like God. This master produces food at an instance. He can provide everything the cat asks for. The cat probably thinks its master is God. The cat will never understand how the master can just produce food just like that. It does not understand that cat food are bought from the supermarket, that cat food had to be transported to the supermarket, that cat food are processed and canned by the factories...etc. Cats will never be able to comprehend all that. All they know is that they only have to meow and ask for food and food will be there. So, to the cat, the master is God. And since the master is a human being and is kind and produces food and cater to all its needs, then human forms are Gods to the cat. But we know that not all human-beings are kind to cats. There are some who are, some who aren't.
We in the 5th World are more intelligent and able than those in the 3rd World of existence. Similarly, those beings in the 8th World are more sophisticated than us in the 5th World. And since they are closer to us than the 31st World, they can relate to us better and are most likely to be more useful to us in the 5th World. And because they are so loving and so useful, some in the 5th World have mistaken all those in the 8th World to be Gods. But again, like those of us in the 5th World, there are those loving and those big egos in the 8th World, so we have to thread carefully. They have bigger love but also their bigger egos. We can communicate with them as they can be useful to us, but treat them as friends, not Gods.

11. The Law of Color

All colors are centers of attraction, and are complementary or are antipathetic to each other. Color is healing and impacts the physical, emotional, mental and human body profoundly. Man is partially composed of color in the aura (we are color, tone, symbols and speed of vibration or light). When intense rays of one or more colors are sent to a specific are of the body, change results.

Different people have different affinity (or reactions) to different colors. Colors are frequencies and affects our moods. So choose one that suits you. Our choice of colors also changes with our change in our consciousness.

12. The Law of Common Ground
This is viewed as a problem solving approach and is an area where two or more can gather to blend differences. It demands that the area be cleansed of previous energy left by others who historically have passed through, or lived on teh spot. This is done by two or more sending loving energy to the area for a specified period of time. Cage the area with a gold net and it will stay cleansed of other's energy. You will leave your energy, but that can be cleansed once you have used this space and are leaving.

It is known that many civilisations have the custom of space cleansing using incense. The Middle Eastern people uses incense sticks, even today. Incense sticks are commonly used by many religions, so it is an irony that some new converts to some religions here refused to hold joss sticks even when they are at their parent's funeral.

There shouldn't be this separation between religions. Everything we see is the manifestation of God. We see God through His creations. More 'separation' means less Godliness. When we see everything as a manifestation of God, we become more loving to everything. This is a Purist life.

A Purist practises 'LPG' which is 'Love, Praise and Gratitude'. With LPG, we don't need religious scriptures. Gratitude opens a door in our heart, so that abundance can flow in. Template (mindless) gratitude will not work. Gratitude must come from the heart. Practise LPG and start seeing your life changing.

The Three Wise Men in the Bible came from Persia, Egypt and Tibet guided by their intuition to meet in a desert. They brought with themselves, Frankensense (for purity and cleansing), Gold (for the crown) and Myrh (which is for preservation as symbol for eternity).

13. The Law of Consciousness

As consciousness expands, the space for events increases and therefore the dimensions in which man congizes good and evil, opportunities and possibilities, past-present-future enlarge to reveal the outstanding needs in this present world cycle.
14. The Law of Continuity and Consciousness

The Universe is in a continuous and endless process of creation,. Cosmic consciousness is a reality, and everything in creation is connected to everything else. The medium for the 'implicate order' of this relationship is consciousness. The fusion of individual consciousness and the universal consciousness (the building of the antahkarana) results in the development of universal knowledge, of omniscience (all science/all knowledge). Continuity of consciousness is achieved by us after the soul has been acknowledged, awakened, liberated and identified withthe Whole (enlightenment). A step to achieve enlightenment is to be aware of our thoughts, emotions and actions, the faculty that enables us to be vigilant, observant or to know.

Our soul expands as we evolve. We become more encompassing. We will have less restrictions. We will bring down the walls of separation. At some point, we will understand many things in an instance because the knowledge is already there within us.

We can measure our consciousness by looking at the mirror of our life. This is our emotions. How much love to we have and how much fear to we have? Love and fear and indirectly proportional. The more love, the less fear. Fear is the absence of love.

Our present is the result of our past. Our present is the fruits harvested from the previous season. Whatever we sow now, we will harvest in the future. We are continuously sowing seeds. So, it is prudent for us to sow the seeds of Love. So that we harvest fruits that will be fulfilling to us in the future.

An example was brought out about wealthy people who drove to the Cameron Highlands in their luxury cars bargaining with the Orang Asli (aboriginals of Malaysia) over 50 Malaysian cents (about 15 US cents). Why should they be doing so? The aboriginal people are already living by subsistence. Shouldn't this rich people be more compassionate to them? They are probably not aware that their current wealth is the result of their past and if they continue to be so uncaring for others, they will not be so wealthy in their next embodiment.

In fact, everything we see physically is (the result of) the past. It's star gazing. The stars in the skies are long gone, but we continue to see their light reaching us from light years away. Similarly, what we have done in the past are long gone, but we continue to see their results now in us.

*The seminar ended here. The seminar took a whole day, but the time passed so fast while we were rooted on our seats and captivated by Dr Aaron's wisdom and anecdotes of what he had gone through. It was a day well spent.
*As it was mentioned at the start of this posting. The seminar may not be conventional teachings for some people. I may have also interpreted some of what was said inaccurately. For those inaccuracies, the faults are mine.

*I have also deliberately omitted some stories told in the seminar for they may be wrongly seen as imposing some beliefs to readers. Moreover, these exclusive stories are best heard from the horses mouth directly.

*Do feel free to add your criticisms, comments and remarks. It is through differences that we learn and grow.
*In the previous two lectures, we covered the following Laws:

1. Law of Abundance

2. Law of Action.

3. Law of Akasha

4. Law of Analogy

5. Law of Ascension

6. Law of Attraction.

7. Law of Balance or Equipoise (fair exchange)

8. Law of Challenge.

9. Law of Chemical Affinity

[This is second draft. Quite good grammar already lah! Not bad for an engineer. :)]

Haze Update

(This is an update from the National Environmental Agency of Singapore.)

Now that I have got away from the desert heat, I find myself in the haze from the Indonesian forest fires. The Pollution Standard Index was still hovering around 80, when I landed at Changi airport in Singapore. It does remind me of foggy London! :)

I am not a Muslim, but staying here in the Middle East, I follow their tradition of fasting during the month of Ramadan.

I break my fast in two different restaurants.

One is in the hotel, where they serve sumptous buffets. There along with the natives, I stuff myself silly with food to make up for lost time! :)

The other restaurant I go to is frequented by the working class people. There, I sit along communal tables with the common folks to break the fast over a simple plate of food of very modest quantity, a small bowl of soup and a glass of juice. This is probably what the customers of this humble restaurant can afford, and this is about what they have everyday. Little difference from their everyday life.

As I understand it, fasting during Ramadan is an exercise for Muslim to feel first hand the sufferings of the less fortunate and therefore learn to be more compassionate towards others. However, some people here get around having to face the fasting agonies first hand by sleeping in the day and staying up at night. A complete reverse cycle of daily routine. Which means they can eat while they are awake at night, but sleep when the stomache grinds. That doesn't quite serve the purpose of the fast, does it? That's not to mention the stuffing themselves with food before sunrise and after sunset.

Different folks different strokes indeed!

Online Video Ban

Just realised that I cannot access YouTube or ourmedia.org from here. They are probably prohibited by the authorities here. So my video casts have to wait. :(

An Online Guide To Dream Interpretation

An Online Guide To Dream Interpretation

I use this dream dictionary in the link above. It has been a useful guide to help to interprete my dreams. I think keeping a dream journal has helped me understand what goes on in my sub-conscious better. In my journal, I record every detail possible in the dream including how I felt during that time. The latter, my emotions during the dream, help me to interprete the symbolic aspects of the dream better. Remember dream dictionaries are only general guides, ultimately, it is you who will understand your dream best.

One day, as I was going through my dream journal, I realised that I have already met a new acquaintance five months ago - in a dream! I had recorded the dream five months before, but had forgotten entirely about it. The description of her, down to her character and what she wore was accurate to the dot! I was amazed! :)

Healing the Body

These are the medication I bring along when I travel:

Moisturising cream for the face and body, as it is extremely dry over here in Riyadh. Washed laundry dries within ten minutes under the sun! Mine dries in two hours in the 'moist' hotel bathroom!

Balm, in case of physical injury.

Aspirin pain killers when I need to get rid of headaches quickly. I rarely use them, as I normally use Reiki instead. It works!

Insect bite, anti-itch cream.

Colon cleansing capsules that saved my tummy from getting bloated. This one is all natural and vegetable product.

Lastly, I should remember to be kinder to my body. We often don't, in modern urban living. I remember learning to say, "I am not this body, I am a soul. I am a peaceful loving soul", from my Raja Yoga teacher. I have to extend this to loving my body enough to let it rest and recuperate! :)

Digesting it all!

This picture is taken outside a Thai restaurant, run by an Egyptian, with the food cooked by Filippino chefs, in Riyadh. Globalisation true and true! :) Most of the customers there were Filippino. In fact the restaurant is sited in a Filippino enclave. That area look really run down, which surprised me. I realised that not all places are as plushed looking as the picture shown in the previous posting. I have taken some video shots too. I'll vodcast it here later.

Anyway, all shops are closed during prayer times, and the seats are meant for ladies waiting to get into the restaurant. Which means I could not sit there or share the bench with them, the ladies. The notice next to the sign explains that customers are kept out of the restaurants during prayer times for fire safety reasons and thank us for our understanding.

Fatigue has really set in on me! I am not digesting well, my stomach is bloated and I feel like a heavyweight! After I got back to the hotel, I took some colon cleansing pills and feel much better this morning. My neck still feels very strained! Wish I had some Chinese medicinal plasters, affectionately called 'koyok', to heal with. :)
